Battery Inspection
Fosbel’s lancescope inspection system provides real-time and close up or wide angle views of virtually any area of a battery. The system uses a state-of-the-art digital camera/video system, which provides clear, detailed images of problem areas up to 1650°C (3000°F).
Inspection Applications
The lancescope system can be inserted into flues from the battery top, allowing for the inspection of inner refractory of the flue. In blast furnace stoves, the lancescope system can be inserted into peep holes for refractory inspection.
The lancescope system also provides clear images from refractory linings operating at temperatures above 800°C (1472°F). Below such temperatures, an external light source is used for superior clarity.
An innovative ceramic welding technology with the lancescope allowes the bricks to be welded in place while the furnace operates, avoiding a shutdown for the rebuild.
Thermal Imaging
Fosbel’s Thermal Imaging Inspection Service identifies problem areas in a variety of locations within the plant. Typical applications include pinpointing fuel gas line blockages or eroded areas of pipelines, and determining the level of tar heel in tar storage tanks.
